It’s been weeks since the “fall” of the Assad government in Syria and semi-installation of a new terrorist run government. In fact, it seems that Syria is largely run by al-Qaeda, rebranded as Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, under its leader Jolani.
While Jolani initially spoke of a Syria “for all Syrians” where minority groups would be protected and freedom of religion would be respected, where women would not be forced to where the veil, and where peace would be the ultimate goal, many onlookers predicted a different track for Syria – one of bloodshed, civil war, ethnic and religious cleansing.
It seems that the latter was indeed the more accurate prediction.
Syria has been devolving into civil war between terrorist factions and the remnants of the Syrian military and unaffiliated militias. At the same time, terrorist forces are fighting one another, fanatical Kurds are fighting terrorists and Turkey, the United States is bombing alleged ISIS targets, and Israel is launching a massive bombing campaign all across the country to destroy all equipment and military infrastructure that once belonged to the Syrian military. Israel is also occupying a “buffer zone” of illegally annexed and extended territory belonging to Syria.
The country is already breaking down into a land of warring factions, resembling the Lebanese civil war more and more each day.
“Reports are being received of massacres and displacement of Christian and Alawite communities in the coastal area, Homs and Damascus countryside. Maaloula and Sqeilbiyyeh will be especially targeted because of the prior steadfastness of their resistance against the sectarian hordes backed by Turkey, Israel and the collective Western neocolonial regimes.”

While the Syrian National Army has reportedly attempted to keep inter-religious conflicts to a minimum, it appears their attempts are failing.
The sectarian attacks have crossed over the border into Lebanon as well, if reports are accurate. One video allegedly shows HTS affiliates in Lebanon’s Tripoli torturing captive Alawite families who escaped HTS in Syria.
“Howl, you dog… louder!” one of the extremists says in the video.

It appears there will be a civil war in Syria – for real this time, not a foreign invasion. At least, not initially. Plans are increasingly being made to use the presence of HTS as a justification for Western military action in Syria under the guise of “fighting terrorism.”
Only time will tell what will happen in Syria. In the meantime, we can only piece together the fragmented information received from numerous parts of the country falling apart at the seams, making information itself hard to come by.
