US Admits Paying Terrorists For Services Rendered In Syria

When researchers such as myself have reported that the United States is funding al-Qaeda, Nusra, ISIS and other related terror organizations in Syria, we were not kidding. Still, despite the fact that even the U.S. government itself has admitted that it was funding terroristsdirectly and indirectly through Saudi Arabia, the suggestion was met with disbelief, ridicule, or either entirely ignored.

Now, however, the United States government has admitted that it funds terrorists on the ground in Syria yet again, this time placing an individual dollar amount on the assistance provided.

According to the Pentagon, Syrian “rebels” being trained and “vetted” by the United States are receiving “compensation” to the tune of anywhere between $250 to $400 per month to act as America’s proxy forces in the Middle East. Reuters reports that the payment levels were confirmed by the Pentagon and also that the Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter and Navy Commander Elissa Smith both separately admitted the fact that these “new” terrorists are receiving a stipend.

Reuters also reported on alleged obstacles the Pentagon claims it is facing regarding the ability to train the death squad volunteers due to a lack of ability to “vet” them appropriately as well as a bizarre incident where fighters abandon the mission after having received training from the US military. The reason provided by the Pentagon was that the fighters did not want to sign a contract to avoid fighting Assad. But, in the same report, the Pentagon states that there was no such contract – only one requiring them to “respect human rights” and “the rule of law,” so the reason provided for the disappearance of these fighters lacks legitimacy. One can only speculate as to where these “trainees” disappeared to.

With recent allegations coming out against former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert regarding not only financial impropriety but a number of sexual abuse accusations, one can scarcely pay attention to current events without recalling child sex abuse scandals that have taken place in the past, especially since many of the names appearing next to Hastert’s in media reports are the same names that have appeared in previous scandals.

Only a few weeks ago, Hastert was indicted on charges that he “structured bank transactions to avoid triggering red flags and then lied about those cash withdrawals to the FBI.”

As CNN reports,
The technical nature of the underlying criminal charges became an afterthought within days of Hastert's indictment when law enforcement sources confirmed his case was about gay sex with underage students decades ago, when he was a high school teacher and coach.
The former speaker was arraigned Tuesday in a Chicago federal courtroom.

Separately, a woman told reporters that her brother had said his first gay sexual experience was with Hastert when he was a teen and Hastert was a school faculty member.

The brother, Steve Reinboldt, died of AIDS in 1995.

Corporate Media Claim of ''Alawite Regime'' In Syria Debunked

June 24, 2015

The Western mainstream press has long attempted to brand Syria as just one more Middle Eastern country caught in the centuries-old battle between Sunni and Shiite Muslims, a narrative that has been successfully peddled to the American public. In fact, that narrative has been so successful in American public discourse that one of the most common responses coming from even anti-war proponents is “those people have people have been fighting over there for thousands of years.”

This narrative is simple – the Middle East has always been a basket case and any attempts to bring civilization to the savages that live there are futile. The end result is that the anti-war side uses the narrative as an attempt to dissuade Americans from invasion while the pro-war side uses it to justify full invasion and even nuclear war. Both, however, buy into to a fairy tale on which they base their generic opinions.

Syria, of course, has been the most recent recipient of uneducated and obstinate opinions based on narratives provided by corporate media outlets suggesting that society is entirely divided based upon religion and that the heavy-handed Assad represents the oppression of all other members of society by a minority Alawite sect. According to the Western press, the Assad government is an Alawite dictatorship as much as Syrian society was divided by religion.

Were Active Shooter Drills Taking Place In Charleston During Church Shooting?

It is now commonly known within the researching community that the presence of a military, law enforcement, or other related “drill” occurring at the same time as a high profile event is often an indicator that the event was of the false flag variety.

After, the Charleston shooting, there have been numerous questionable aspects of the tragic murder of nine people in the Charleston AME church that many researches have pointed out in articles, videos, and radio shows. For instance, the question over whether or not photos of Dylann Roof had been altered, the amazing ability of the Southern Poverty Law Center to have been one of the first organizations to release photos of Roof as well as troves of intel before any other media outlet, the psychological state of Roof after the rampage, the timing of the event, the subsequent agenda that was rolled out all stand as evidence that the event may have been a staged provocation and that Roof may himself be yet another mentally damaged patsy.

While it is difficult to determine the true nature of the event, evidence is continuing to emerge that may help in that determination.

If Andrew Pontbriand’s recent article is accurate, there may indeed be much greater reason to question the official story of the event – i.e. that Dylann Roof was a drug addicted white supremacist who decided to go berserk in Charleston. This is because Pontbriand has reported the presence of Active Shooter drills ongoing from a few days before the shooting and concluding after the murders had taken place.

International Criticism Of US Human Rights Record Over Pinkney Case

US violations of Constitutional and human rights have long been recognized by countries who have been unfortunate enough to find themselves victims of Western and US imperialism. These countries have, on occasion, also been vocal about them. Even Russia and China have flippantly mentioned the US hypocrisy in regards to the human rights issue. European countries, on the other hand, have long been silent about US abuses due to the collusion and cooperation in the Atlanticist and Anglo-American agenda.

European silence has come despite the incessant wars committed overseas, the enormous population of imprisoned people in the US, the elimination of privacy, dictatorship of corporations and banks, and the authoritarian crackdown on American citizens.

Recently, however, a respected member of the Italian judicial community, Ferdinando Imposimato, was moved by the case of Rev. Edward Pinkney of Benton Harbor, Michigan, enough to address a letter to the Italian government calling for the Italians to remind the United States that they, too, are signatories to the Helsinki Treaty and that they should afford Pinkney his rights and due process.

Imposimato wrote,
Having examined a summary of the legal action against Reverend Edward Pinkney of Benton Harbor, Michigan (USA), I feel the duty to express my gravest concern about abuses of civil and human rights against this of this minister of the gospel, who is at the same time the main leader of popular resistance against the anti-freedom regime imposed in that area by the multinational corporation Whirlpool, which has its world headquarters precisely in Benton Harbor.

Obama ''Tired'' Of Giving Gun Speeches, Hits The Links At Cali Golf Course - During Drought

June 22, 2015

As Charlestonians continue to deal with the tragic murder of nine innocent people, Americans stand at the precipice of crushing austerity and economic collapse, and the US military continues to fight wars raging overseas, Obama is now doing what any bold and courageous leader in his situation would do – he is taking vacation.

Shortly after giving a rousing (albeit wholly unconvincing) speech about how guns and their availability are the cause of mass shootings (as opposed to American police who have killed more Americans in 2014 than all mass shootings in American history combined or US intelligence agencies via false flag operations), Obama took off to the Coachella Valley in California to enjoy some of the most pristine golf courses available to the US ruling class - in the midst of a terrifying and massive drought no less!

In response to the drought, California Governor Jerry Brown has called for a 25% reduction in the use of potable water. In Coachella specifically, the area was called on to reduce water usage by 36% due to its higher per capita use of water resources. But this is no matter for the US President or water authorities. When the public face of the US oligarchy wants to play golf, the public face of the US oligarchy plays golf.

Apparently, Obama was so exhausted from his brief stint pretending to act as President that he needed yet another vacation to buttress his time at work.

The Only Way Forward In 2015

Brandon Turbeville

June 19, 2015

In the year 2015, America and the rest of the world finds itself at a crossroads. The time is fast approaching when the world’s population will receive the final choice between a move toward true freedom or the clampdown of total oppression. Throughout recorded history, tyrannies have arisen and morphed into other forms with the end result being the creation and maintenance of a permanent worldwide oligarchy that is attempting to ensure the end of all independent thought and action.

This oligarchy has maintained its control by a number of different methods, the concept of “divide and conquer” being one of the most important in its arsenal. Throughout history, the divisions of race, religion, national borders, and class have all been cleverly used to keep the many from rightly viewing the few as the enemy.

In the past, there have been times where the façade has shown cracks and there have been individuals who have shown their perception of the obstacle of division and subsequently made strides to overcome it. Those individuals did their best but were promptly silenced or murdered for their efforts. The murders of JFK, RFK, MLK, and others are all testaments to this idea. Particularly with Martin Luther King Jr., the danger to the oligarchy was not so much his fight for civil rights for black Americans, his opposition to the Vietnam war, and his concerns for labor that posed a threat to the oligarchy individually, it was his ability to unify those varied interests – blacks and black civil rights activists, white war protesters, and blue collar workers – that represented the greatest threat.

Obama Calls For Gun Control In Wake Of Charleston Church Shooting

Brandon Turbeville

June 19, 2015

As anyone with two brain cells moving in the same direction would have been able to predict, President Barack Obama and his mouthpiece media outlets have already begun calling for more gun control in the wake of the Charleston, SC church shooting.

Before the corpses of the victims were fully cold, the local Charleston oligarchs, mainstream media, and now the President immediately took to blaming the atrocity on the availability of guns.

Even before the international disgrace known as Barack Obama was able to practice the speech provided for him by well-paid writers, corrupt Charleston Mayor Joe Riley launched into a tirade against gun ownership.

As The Washington Post quotes Riley, he said,
“I personally believe there are far too many guns out there, and access to guns, it’s far too easy. Our society has not been able to deal with that yet.”

In the coming days, Riley said he would “continue to push on” and called the killings this week “another example of why” more gun-control measures should be enacted.
Riley went on to criticize the “easy ability for people to gain possession of them no doubt contributes to violent acts.”
Today, Obama followed suit with his typical and well-worn oratory by stating,
“We don’t have all the facts, but we do know that once again, innocent people were killed in part because someone who wanted to inflict harm had no trouble getting their hand on a gun.”

John Kerry ''Compiling'' More Lies Against Syria

Despite the fact that both John Kerry and the US State Department have been repeatedly disproven over their claims that the Syrian government is using chemical weapons against civilians and terrorists in Syria, John Kerry appeared via video from Boston to announce that he has proof that the Syrian government has done just that. He also indicated that the US government is “compiling” that evidence to be presented at a later date.

“I am absolutely certain, we are certain that the preponderance of those attacks have been carried out by the regime,” Kerry said. He also claimed that “It has been significantly documented; it’s dropped from airplane. The opposition isn’t flying airplanes or helicopters.”

Obviously, facts have never gotten in the way of a good story for the State Department or for John Kerry and they certainly did not do so this time around. Kerry knows full well the Syrian government has not used chemical weapons against civilians or terrorists. Either that or the damage to his leg has metastasized to his brain.

This is because ALL of the chemical weapons attacks that have taken place in Syria have either been proven to have been conducted by the Western-backed death squads or, at the very least in these instances, the overwhelming majority of evidence available points to the “rebels” as the guilty party.

US Intelligence Responds ''No Comment'' To Questions Of Support for ISIS

Anthony Freda Art

June 8, 2015

On May 25, I wrote an article entitled “DOD Admits Supporting ISIS, Buffer Zones In Syria,” where I detailed the importance of documents obtained by Judicial Watch via a lawsuit filed by the watchdog organization against the Defense Intelligence Agency revealing that the US government was not only well aware of the fact that al-Qaeda/AQI/ISIS made up the bulk of the so-called “opposition” in Syria but that the US supported these terrorist organizations in their drive to create an “Islamic State” in Syria and Iraq.

These documents were stunning in their open admission that the US government was knowingly supporting al-Qaeda in Iraq and Syria and even more so in the admission that the US gov’t was supporting the creation of the Islamic State. But they were only stunning in the fact that they were released without the relevant portions being redacted. They were much less than surprising when one considers the fact that any informed observer was able to deduce the US policy long before the documents were ever released.

After all, every action the US took in terms of its policy toward AQI/ISIS resulted in strengthening the organization. Even more so, when one comes to understand the fact that the ISIS/AQI was entirely created by the United States and NATO to begin with, the story of what is happening in the Middle East becomes that much clearer. In other words, it was the open admission of support for ISIS – in un-redacted official form – was surprising. The actual support for ISIS, unfortunately, was not.

With growing reports in the alternative (but notable silence amongst the mainstream) press, it was almost inevitable that the corporate media or the intelligence apparatus would have to address what they surely deem publicly to be a “conspiracy theory.”

Edward Snowden: The Man Who Made Obama to Retreat
June 4, 2015

The US Congress endorsed National Security Agency reform in an historic vote for the US Freedom Act, seen by some as a major win for the exiled whistleblower.

The so-called Freedom Act is the successor to the Patriot Act’s specific provisions on domestic surveillance, and the main change it brings is that telecommunications providers, not the government, will store customers’ data instead. Critics have decried the Freedom Act as not doing enough to abide by the Fourth Amendment, which guarantees Americans freedom from unlawful searches and seizures. Snowden himself commemorated it for being a step in the right direction, but expressed dissatisfaction that it didn’t go far enough in protecting Americans’ privacy.

Seen by some as a controversial and divisive figure, Snowden, nevertheless, was the one who made the world aware of the NSA’s controversial domestic spying programs, and the Freedom Act wouldn’t have been possible had it not been for his courageous whistleblowing.

Boris Volkhonsky, Head of the Asian Desk, Russian Institute for Strategic Studies(studio guest), Brandon Turbeville, American journalist and geopolitical analyst and Raymond McGovern, Former CIA analyst, commented on the issue.

US Claims Assad Supporting ISIS as US Supports ISIS

Reminiscent of a 1970’s television show, whenever one tunes in to the mainstream corporate news to observe the latest propaganda from the US government and the State Department in particular, the viewer can scarcely contain himself from asking “What will they think of next?”

Indeed, mainstream news and the US State Department must be attempting to top themselves in a contest that could only be titled “Wackiest theory of the week.”

Enter this week’s contestant: the “Assad is supporting ISIS” claim.

Yesterday, the U.S. Embassy Syria Twitter account sent out a tweet suggesting that the Syrian government was undertaking a bombing campaign in support of ISIS and the terrorist organization’s creeping assault on Aleppo.

FREEDOM Act Passes, Effectively Kills Freedom

With the passage of the USA FREEDOM Act, mainstream media outlets and even some “privacy advocates” are hailing the passage of the bill as a welcome step forward and a sign of defeat for the USA PATRIOT Act, the bill that was itself passed in the wake of the 9/11 attacks and widely representative of the United States’ rapid descent into outright police state tyranny.

Unfortunately, however, the passage of the FREEDOM Act is no victory for freedom. In fact, is an insultingly sound nail in freedom’s coffin.

The bill, which has been promoted and supported by many of the same members of Congress that supported the PATRIOT Act (notably, James Sensenbrenner) now comes on the heels of a 2nd US Circuit Court decision that bulk telecommunications data collection was not authorized by the PATRIOT Act, unconstitutional, and therefore an illegal act.

To be sure, the FREEDOM Act has been in the works for passage since 2013 when lawmakers began pushing it. At the time, the bill attempted to actually extend the PATRIOT Act provisions through the end of 2017 as well as maintain a number of violations of civil liberties and privacy concerns.

The new version of the FREEDOM Act is no better, except perhaps in the language being used to promote it.

Middle East Turmoil Is Complete Theatre - War Is On The Horizon

June 3, 2015

Considering the years of propaganda surrounding Iran and its nuclear program, it was clear to any informed observer that the recent US-Iran nuclear deal was nothing more than theatre. After all, the US/NATO imperialist machine has made its desire to wage war on the Persian nation explicit for some time. The only question is just how long this theatre will last before that goal is finally realized.

While the Western press and corporate media outlets have taken to presenting the Iran nuclear deal as either a tragic capitulation to the deadly warmongering Iranians or a brilliant lunge for peace with the deadly warmongering Iranians, the premise of their presentations are exactly the same – that Iran is dangerous, wants war, and is doing whatever it can to acquire a nuclear weapon.

This is, of course, despite the fact that there is no evidence that Iran is attempting to gain a nuclear weapon or has any aggressive intent in the region. In fact, the US and Israeli intelligence organizations have both determined that Iran does not have a nuclear weapon nor is it attempting to acquire one. Indeed, it has been admitted by military industrial complex firm, The RAND Corporation, that Iran’s military capabilities were largely defensive, not offensive. Even further, not only was Iran well within its rights to do everything it was doing in regards to nuclear energy and technology, the agreement signed with the West was an extraordinary act of conciliation and cooperation. Indeed, Iran bent over backwards to appease the West in its imperialists aims.

Huge Explosion In Latakia Reveals US HRW Hypocrisy

June 1, 2015

On May 25, when a large explosion took place in Latakia, Syria, a few mainstream media outlets covered the incident from the angle of it being yet one more sign that the Syrian regime was losing its grip on power. This explosion was followed by a huge yellow plume of smoke that caused many informed observers to wonder whether or not the explosion was that of a chemical weapon.

On the chemical weapons question, however, the mainstream Western press was silent.

This is despite the fact that the media clearly sees the sign of yellow smoke as the indication of chemical weapons use, which it subsequently uses to blame Bashar al-Assad and gin up support for US invasion when those explosions take place in certain areas or have deleterious results for the death squads. After all, when a missile/explosion was detonated in Dara (Dera’ah), Dr. Annie Sparrow, a “health activist” married to the head of Human Rights Watch, Kenneth Roth, claimed that a chlorine-based chemical weapon had been detonated by the Assad regime (who else?). Sparrow’s photograph showed a plume of yellow smoke that looked identical to that in Latakia.

Indeed, her husband’s HRW organization has also made statements suggesting that yellow colored smoke was an indication of the use of chlorine-based chemical weapons.
