While many may have the idea that Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is “weak” in his support for the settler state of Israel, news emerging from Capitol Hill should put to rest any doubts as to where Paul’s true allegiances lie.

This is because Rand Paul has announced that he plans to introduce a new bill that will suspend U.S. aid to the Palestinians unless the Palestinian authorities publicly recognize Israel’s right to exist and declare a ceasefire with Israel.

Paul’s bill, if passed, would allow the Palestinian leaders five weeks to publicly declare Israel’s right to exist as well as initiate and declare the ceasefire. Failure of the Palestinian authorities to comply would result in the suspension of the annual $400 million in aid provided to the Palestinians by the United States.

The bill is largely seen as a reaction to the recent reconciliation between Fatah, which is led by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas, the largely Islamist organization that governs the Gaza Strip.

In regards to the proposed bill, Paul stated, “Israel cannot be expected to negotiate with an entity that does not believe it should exist, and has used terrorist tactics to seek its end.”

Paul made no mention of the historical terrorism of Israeli organizations like the Irgun or the present day genocide that takes place every day.

Paul also stated that, if the Palestinians agree to the terms, the regional peace talks “can move forward with two willing partners.”

In yet another example of Rand Paul’s contradictory behavior, it has been revealed by Ben Swann that the Kentucky Senator may very well have attempted to kill the campaign of a “Liberty Democrat” for U.S. Senate in Maine.

At the very least, Paul was painfully ignorant of both the positions of the candidate he endorsed as well as the positions of the one he did not.

Given the track record of Paul, however, it is much more likely that he was fully aware that Republican incumbent Susan Collins was a supporter of NSA spying and domestic wiretapping, the PATRIOT ACT, as well as a tacit supporter of torture.

That being said, before taking the stage to endorse Collins, Paul spoke to the Portland Herald Press where he stated “I whole-heartedly endorse Senator Collins for re-election. I think she is doing a great job for Maine and for the country.” However, when Paul was forced to address Collins’ stance on the NSA scandal, he responded by stating “I don’t really know, exactly, what her position is on the NSA; you’d have to ask her about that.”

Yet if Paul was incapable of doing even 20 minutes worth of research before “wholeheartedly endorsing” a candidate, Ben Swann was able to do that research for him. As Swann reports, Collins’ record is less than rousing for anyone who supports basic liberty and human freedom. Swann provides a sample of Collins record by pointing out that:

The History and Science of Color Revolutions, Part 4

Eastern European, Slovac, and Middle Eastern nations are not the only targets of Anglo-American destabilization campaigns and color revolutions, particularly in recent years. South America, Asia, and even Russia have been and continue to be subject to Western meddling in their own internal affairs, with some of these mass mobilizations being more successful than others.

It is well-established that the entire “Arab Spring” uprising was nothing more than a Western-backed color revolution bolstered by many legitimate complaints of the subject populations yet instigated and guided by Anglo-Americans who have no interest in bringing these people real democracy or freedom. Instead, the teeming masses are nothing more than battering rams for an agenda they do not understand or even know exists.

As in the color revolutions of Eastern Europe and the Slovac world, the “Arab Spring” was engineered and controlled from the very beginning, with “freedom-spreading” organizations working on the ground to recruit, organize, train, and assist participants for the upcoming protests and destabilization. As Tony Cartalucci and Nile Bowie write in their e-book War on Syria: Gateway to WWIII,

One of the organizations involved in recruiting, training, and supporting youth activists ahead of the “Arab Spring” was described in an April 2011 New York Times article. The organization, Movements.org, or Alliance of Youth Movements, would later be described admitting to US funding and involvement in the “Arab Spring” uprisings. The article implicates Freedom House, the National Endowment for Democracy, and two of its satellite organizations, the International Republican Institute, and the National Democratic Institute, in recruiting, training, and supporting the unrest starting as early as 2008. While the New York Times article doesn’t mention the organization by name, it links to an official US State Department announcement titled, “Announcement on Alliance of Youth Movements Summit,” that most certainly does.[1] The Alliance of Youth Movements is a corporate-sponsored “coup college” of sorts, training activists to subvert and topple governments on the US State Department’s behalf.

Indeed, while the aforementioned New York Times article still attempts to obfuscate and cover for the NGOs in their role in the Arab Spring, and therefore does not reveal the extent to which they were responsible, it is surprisingly open regarding the role played by Western NGOs in the movement. The author of the article, Ron Nixon, writes,

West Blames Assad For Chemical Weapons Attack, Again

In what is now the latest of chemical weapons attacks to have taken place inside Syria and blamed on the Syrian government by the Western media, the recent chlorine-based gas attack in Kfar Zeita has prompted the Anglo-European propaganda machine to once again begin greasing up its gears to accuse Bashar al-Assad of crimes against humanity and justify some form of humanitarian intervention in Syria by NATO forces.

The attacks come shortly before the completion of the transfer and destruction of Syria’s chemical weapons stockpile.

Predictably, the recent attacks are being promoted by Western outlets as an example of how a chemical weapons free Syria is still capable of deploying chemical weapons against civilians due to a loophole allowing for the production of chlorine gas.

State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki has already seized upon the reports, having stated “We have indications of the use of a toxic industrial chemical — probably chlorine — in Syria this month in the opposition-dominated village of Kfar Zeita ... We’re examining allegations that the government was responsible. We take all allegations of the use of chemicals in combat use very seriously.”

However, what is being completely ignored by these outlets is both the possibility and high probability that the Syrian government was not responsible for the chlorine gas attacks to being with.

Indeed, there are several reasons to doubt the claims made by Western governments and Western media outlets, aside from the fact that both of these institutions have lied on repeated occasions regarding the use of chemical weapons in Syria.

7.5 Earthquake in Papua New Guinea

Fresh on the heels of a large earthquake in Mexico City, Mexico on Friday, April 18, 2014, Reuters is reporting that a 7.5 quake has struck off the coast of Papua New Guinea on Saturday.

Although there were no initial reports of damage or death, it is quite clear that the strength of the quake was significant simply by virtue of its magnitude.

A tsunami warning was issued for the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea but that warning was lifted shortly thereafter. It appears that there is no longer any tsunami-related threat.

Experts, of course, cannot rule out another large earthquake following this one due to their unpredictable nature.

As Jonathan Bathgate, a seismologist at Geoscience Australia stated to Reuters, "Certainly it has been very active, more active than usual. (The spate of earthquakes) is relieving some pressure on this faultline, but we can't rule out another large earthquake."

More Propaganda: Fake Leaflets Telling Jews to Register or be Deported

The leaflets making international news yesterday for claiming that the pro-Russian separatists in Donetsk, Ukraine were requiring Jews to register with the new “People’s Republic of Donetsk” or be deported are now largely accepted as having been fake.

Earlier this week, Jews exiting a synagogue were handed leaflets by men wearing balaclavas and Russian flags informing them that they were required to register themselves and a list of their property as well as pay a registration fee or they would face deportation, have their citizenship revoked, or have their belongings confiscated.

As USA Today reports,

The leaflet begins "Dear Ukraine citizens of Jewish nationality" and states that all people of Jewish descent over 16 years old must report to the Commissioner for Nationalities in the Donetsk Regional Administration building and "register." 

It says the reason is because the leaders of the Jewish community of Ukraine supported Bendery Junta, a reference to Stepan Bandera, the leader of the Ukrainian nationalist movement that fought for Ukrainian independence at the end of World War II, "and oppose the pro-Slavic People's Republic of Donetsk," a name adopted by the militant leadership. 

The leaflet then described which documents Jews should provide: "ID and passport are required to register your Jewish religion, religious documents of family members, as well as documents establishing the rights to all real estate property that belongs to you, including vehicles." 

Consequences for non-compliance will result in citizenship being revoked "and you will be forced outside the country with a confiscation of property," it said. A registration fee of $50 would be required, it said.

The recent visit of CIA Director John Brennan to Ukraine was likely an attempt to initiate the use of force against pro-federalization protests, Brandon Turbeville, an American international affairs expert, told RIA Novosti.

“It’s clear that the CIA director’s presence in Kiev is much more than mere coincidence,” Turbeville said.
“Despite the denials by the White House, it seems that Brennan’s visit was an attempt to, at the very least, express support for a violent crackdown on pro-Russian protesters and militants in Eastern Ukraine. It is more likely, however, that Brennan’s trip was an attempt to formulate, encourage and initiate that use of force,” he added.

CIA Director John Brennan visited Ukraine over the weekend, information that was confirmed by White House Press Secretary Jay Carney on Monday, after being reported by media on Sunday.

Over the same weekend, Kiev authorities cracked down on pro-federalization protests in eastern Ukraine. Regime troops advanced toward a number of cities in eastern Ukraine Tuesday to attack the protesters.
“Brennan’s appearance in Kiev just before the announcement of a violent crackdown in eastern Ukraine is just too timely to assume that it is a coincidence,” Turbeville said.

“Brennan, who has been actively involved in arming insurgents in Libya, Syria and Venezuela, has a reputation for using thuggish tactics in pursuit of CIA goals,” Wayne Madsen, an American investigative journalist told RIA Novosti.

Rand Paul Backs Off Claim that Cheney's Lust for Iraq War was Motivated by Halliburton Profits

In an interview with ABC’s This Week, Paul not only backed off of the tepid criticism of Cheney’s corrupt and open conflict of interest he made in a previous speech, but he made clear that he was not questioning Cheney’s motives for leading the charge to invade Iraq.

Paul even went so far as to suggest that Cheney loves America as much he [Paul] does.

For reference, Paul had stated “Dick Cheney then goes to work for Halliburton, makes hundreds of millions of dollars as CEO. Next thing you know, he’s back in government it’s a good idea to go to Iraq.”

After playing the clip for Paul, the interviewer then asked him, “Do you really think that Cheney was motivated by his financial ties to Halliburton?”

What followed was a textbook flip-flop if ever there was one.

PAUL: I’m not questioning his motives.
KARL: Sure looked like you were questioning his motives.
PAUL: Well, here’s what I’m questioning, I don’t think Dick Cheney did it out of malevolence, I think he loves his country as much as I love the country…
KARL: But you said we don’t want our defense to be defined by people who make money off the weapons. Are you suggesting that’s why we went to war in Iraq?
PAUL: No. No.
KARL: That our defense was being defined by people who make money off weapons?
PAUL: No. And that’s why I’m also saying that I’m not questioning Dick Cheney’s motives.

There’s a chance for a conflict of interest. At one point in time, he was opposed going into Baghdad. Then he was out of office and involved in the defense industry and then he became for going into Baghdad.

FBI Visiting Gun Shops to Investigate "People talking about Big Government"

In keeping with the tradition of the FBI’s position on gun rights, it appears the Bureau is working overdrive to monitor and harass gun owners and the gun shops that sell to them.

While government surveillance of gun purchases and gun owners is nothing new, a recent visit by an FBI Counterterrorism agent to a Columbia, South Carolina gun shop has only reinforced the knowledge that the U.S. government is growing more and more concerned by the prospect of a well-armed populace – particularly one that prefers to live without constant government interference in their personal lives.

While the narrative surrounding “counterterrorism” operations used to eviscerate civil liberties after 9/11 was initially based upon the threat of Muslim fundamentalists, that narrative has clearly shifted to a focus on gun owning, law-abiding American citizens - both those who are politically active and those who are blissfully ignorant of current events.

For many, this shift of focus has been quite the surprise. Thus, when the Columbia, South Carolina gun shop in question was approached by an FBI counterterrorism agent on Monday, April 14, the individuals who spoke with him were somewhat alarmed to realize that the agent's concern was not fundamentalist Muslims but Americans who promote small government.

According to an individual who was present during the visit (this person will remain anonymous for obvious reasons), the agent pulled up in a regular vehicle in plain clothes and took a look around the shop as if he were considering a purchase before approaching the staff and announcing that he was with the FBI Counterterrorism unit.

 

“Never in a million years would I have thought this guy was a fed,” said the witness. “He was in a completely normal vehicle. Regular clothes. Everything. I would have thought this guy was just some downhome country boy.”

7.6 Mag. Quake in Solomon Islands; Tsunami Warnings Issued

The pacific tsunami warning center has just issued a tsunami warning for the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and Vanuata after a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck the Solomon Islands earlier today.

The earthquake took place around 7:15am local time and the epicenter was located about 62 miles southeast of Kirakira, Solomon Islands. The depth of the earthquake was estimated to be approximately 18.2 miles.

Original reports set the magnitude of the quake at 8.3 before subsequent reports revised it downward. There were initial warnings of possible tsunamis for New Zealand; however, those warnings have now been cancelled. Still, there are risks of both stronger and unusual currents along the New Zealand coast. It is not known whether there are any injuries as a result of the Solomon Islands quake.

With the situation heating up in Clark County, Nevada, a range of emotions have been expressed by those following the events taking place. These emotions vary widely depending upon one's worldview and political perspective, as most emotions do. For those successfully trained to believe that government is always right, Bundy is nothing more than another “right wing extremist” intent on destroying the social fabric of the United States and the ability of Federal government to function. To those who are more inclined to promote a culture of liberty and freedom, Bundy represents a potential martyr. Even more so, to these individuals Bundy represents the possibility of another Waco or Ruby Ridge.

Like most tense situations, however, it is good practice to let cooler heads prevail and to analyze the events in an objective fashion before forming an opinion.

While most of the alternative media has built up Cliven Bundy to be next in line for the title of victim of government violence, there is much more to the story than what is being reported both in the mainstream or alternative outlets.

With the abuse of protesters and the potential for the harming of an entire family, as well as a significant confrontation between police, federal agents, and militia-men, it is very important that those transfixed with the Bundy Ranch situation get the facts straight before any shots are fired and any more blood is spilled.

With this in mind, I would respectfully ask that the readers consider the following points before launching headlong into what may be a tragic mistake.

Government Actions Against Protesters

First, it must be acknowledged that the manner in which federal agents and law enforcement agencies have dealt with protesters is atrocious to say the least. Tazing unarmed civilians, manhandling protesters, and violating the first amendment by setting up unconstitutional “free speech zones” is reprehensible. In addition, one could even make the argument that the treatment of the protesters is more of a legitimate reason to start the next American revolution than the actions they are protesting.

US Army Vet and Syrian Rebel With Possible Links To CIA Found Dead

The former U.S. Army Ranger who fought alongside death squads in Syria and who was arrested upon his return, Eric Harroun, has been found dead in his father’s house in Arizona this week.

"With deep sorrow, we regret to inform you of our beloved Eric Harroun's death. He will be missed by his family, friends, and many people around the world his life has touched," the family’s statement read.

Although an official cause of death has not been released, Harroun’s sister posted a statement claiming that Harroun died as the result of an accidental overdose.

Harroun was arrested last year by the FBI for his association with known terrorist group and al-Qaeda affiliate Jobhat al-Nusra.

Yet the case eventually saw Harroun a free man with only three years of parole as a penalty since, according to ABC news, the government confused Harroun’s affiliation with al-Nasr with the al-Nusra Front. Thus, ABC News claims that Harroun was affiliated with a death squad organization that was not fighting for jihad with al-Qaeda. Harroun was therefore only convicted of failing to obtain an export license.

Aside from the fact that it is incredibly hard to believe that the FBI simply confused two names of death squad organizations during the process of investigation, arrest, and prosecution, the claim that al Nasr was anything other than a fundamentalist jihad organization that took part in wholesale slaughter is simply a baseless assumption.

In my last article regarding the history and science of color revolutions, I attempted to demonstrate how the science of using mass movements of “swarming adolescents” to destabilize national governments and implement regime change is actually a well-established instrument of imperialist desires. In addition, the previous article also demonstrated the methodology of this type of attack in terms of the means of deployment and necessary components of the color revolution.

Yet, if one were to desire a case study in the art of color revolution and destabilization, then the case of Milosevic’s Serbia could easily be provided.

Indeed, Michael Dobbs of the Washington Post wrote an article in 2000 entitled, “U.S. Advice Guided Milosevic Opposition: Political Consultants Helped Yugoslav Opposition Topple Authoritarian Leader,” where he peripherally outlined the tactics used by the United States and NGOs in order to accomplish the desired regime change and the weakening of yet another target nation. This successful destabilization resulted in what Mowat deems in his excellent article “A New Gladio In Action,” “The Serbian Virus,” a domino effect of color revolutions in the Eastern European and Slavic countries.[1] Dobbs wrote,

U.S.-funded consultants played a crucial role behind the scenes in virtually every facet of the anti-Milosevic drive, running tracking polls, training thousands of opposition activists and helping to organize a vitally important parallel vote count. U.S. taxpayers paid for 5,000 cans of spray paint used by student activists to scrawl anti-Milosevic graffiti on walls across Serbia, and 2.5 million stickers with the slogan "He's Finished," which became the revolution's catchphrase.

Some Americans involved in the anti-Milosevic effort said they were aware of CIA activity at the fringes of the campaign, but had trouble finding out what the agency was up to. Whatever it was, they concluded it was not particularly effective. The lead role was taken by the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development, the government's foreign assistance agency, which channeled the funds through commercial contractors and nonprofit groups such as NDI and its Republican counterpart, the International Republican Institute (IRI).

Promotion Given To Cops Who Shot Occupy Activist Scott Olsen

As if there was any doubt that police departments all across America are rewarding their officers for egregious acts of violence, the Oakland police department has recently promoted two of the police officers involved in the shooting of Occupy activist Scott Olsen.

Olsen, readers may remember, was an Occupy activist and Iraq war veteran who was shot in the head with beanbag bullets by Oakland police in 2011. Olsen was only about fifteen feet away from the officer who shot him, fracturing his skull and sending him to the hospital in critical condition. Police also fired flash grenades at activists who rushed to Olsen’s aid and continued to assault the demonstrators as they attempted to drag Olsen to safety and provide him with medical attention. Olsen temporarily lost his ability to speak, perform basic motor functions, and concentrate adequately. While he has recovered the ability to speak, his speech is still slurred and his memory and concentration are still significantly impaired.

Yet despite the fact that the City of Oakland was forced to pay out $4.5 million to Olsen in a settlement, the Oakland Police Department has now promoted two of the cops involved in the shooting.

Even more concerning is the fact that one of the officers, Paul Figueroa, has been promoted to the position of Assistant Police Chief and is now the second in command of the Oakland Police Department.

Roland Holmgren, a Sergeant with a “Tango Team,” a type of Oakland tactical squad consisting of five officers and one sergeant each, was also involved in Olsen’s shooting. Like Figueroa, he was also promoted. Holmgren was awarded the title of Lieutenant earlier in 2014.

Thirty years ago, Bob Dylan wrote a song called “Union Sundown” that now seems as if it was nothing less than prophecy set to music. The song, which attracted a great deal of hatred from establishment critics at the time, spoke out against the neo-liberal/free trade ideology that was beginning to take hold in the United States. It also took aim at the obsession of turning everything into a commodity the practice of seeking profits above all else.

In 1983, the true effects of globalism and free trade were only beginning to manifest themselves to the general public in ways that could no longer be denied. Already, in the 1980s, American jobs were beginning to move offshore and American workers left to pick through the growing piles of rubble that was once the economic envy of the world. Union busting, the low-wage economy, and growing unemployment was only then beginning to become the order of the day in the general purview of the American people.

Thus, when Dylan wrote the lines “Well, it’s sundown on the union/And what’s made in the U.S.A./Sure was a good idea/’Til greed got in the way,” it may have seemed like pessimism of the highest order to many of his listeners. After all, the United States had weathered the oil and energy crises of the 1970s and they were being told that they had survived the severe recession of the early 1980s. Listening to the U.S. government and the media, one might be tempted to believe that the worst was behind them. Besides, after being three years into the term of Ronald Reagan, many Americans were themselves deluded into believing that Reagan’s policies would bring them a recovery.

They didn’t.

In fact, what little improvement the economy saw in the 1980s was not due to Reagan at all.[1]
